The Proteomics Unit of the Center for Neuroscience and Cell Biology – University of Coimbra, was established in 2006 at Biocant – Biotechnology Park in Cantanhede, as a result of a joint effort of the “Molecular Biotechnology and Health” research area and the “Neuroprotection and Cell Death” research group – CNC-UC.

The Unit is specialized in the identification and quantification of proteins from complex samples, identification of post-translational modifications, and identification and quantification of metabolites. It is mainly focused on running R&D projects from both partners, as well as other collaborators (from CNC, Biocant, other R&D institutes and private companies).

Our team has also been involved in Masters and PhD courses with the Chemistry department–UC, and CNC-UC, respectively.

Proteomics Unit - Center for Neuroscience and Cell Biology, University of Coimbra, is member of Portuguese National Mass Spectrometry Network (Rede Nacional de Espectrometria de Massa)
