Welcome to the Molecular Systems Biology Group (Center for Neuroscience and Cell Biology, University of Coimbra, Portugal). We are a multi-disciplinary research team focusing on finding and understanding the naturally evolved design principles of biochemical networks. Current projects address the evolutionary design of prevalent metabolic circuits, the metabolism of reactive chemical species, erythrocyte metabolism and the metabolism of proliferating cells.
