Welcome to the Molecular Systems Biology Group (Center for Neuroscience and Cell Biology, University of Coimbra, Portugal). We are a multi-disciplinary research team focusing on finding and understanding naturally evolved organization principles of biochemical systems. Current projects address the evolutionary design of prevalent metabolic circuits, the evolution and design of antioxidant protection systems, erythrocyte metabolism and the metabolism of proliferating cells.
